Mission Statement

The Black and White Film Foundation is a not-for-profit organization devoted to showcasing and celebrating black and white motion pictures on film in Montreal movie theatres.

Personnel

David Marriott, President, Co-Founder

David Marriott was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Film Production from Concordia University's Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. He is the writer/director of four short films including "Dapper" (2007), winner of The Muse Entertainmnet Enterprises Scholarship. His most recent work is the 35mm short "Dreamland."

Roy Cross, Vice-President, Co-Founder

Roy is a Flatlander from Saskatchewan currently living and working in Montreal. He is an Associate Professor at Canada's best film school - the Mel Hoppenhein School of Cinema at Concordia University. He is a father of two beautiful sons and he makes films. His debut feature, So Faraway and Blue earned critical praise when it opened commercially in Montreal and Toronto. His short films have played festivals around the world. www.roycross.com

Dan Stefik, Secretary-Treasurer, Co-Founder

Dan is a film and media teacher at both the Cegep (Vanier College) and University (Concordia) levels. He is also a freelance writer, having contributed to a number of film periodicals including Cineaction, Screen, Hollywood Elsewhere and Synoptique. He is also a practicing musician and aspiring filmmaker.
